Our staff are in sustained recovery and have lived experiences as parents in addiction and parents in recovery.
Founded by The McShin Foundation, Destiny House is a women and children’s recovery residence dedicated to empowering mothers in recovery to build healthy, stable, and purpose-driven lives. We provide safe housing, peer-to-peer support, and family-centered services that promote healing, personal growth, and long-term recovery. Our mission is to break the cycle of addiction by nurturing recovery, strengthening families, and fostering hope for the next generation.
Save Mothers’ Lives:
Provide safe, supportive housing and recovery resources that empower women to achieve and maintain long-term recovery and eliminate overdose deaths.

Keep Families Together:
Prevent children from entering foster care by supporting mothers in building stable, nurturing, and recovery-centered homes where families can heal and thrive together.  This will reduce the number of children in the foster care system in Virginia.
Break Generational Cycles of Addiction:
Create lasting change by offering recovery, education, and family-based support that reduce the risk of substance use disorders passing from one generation to the next.
