Trainings are held the last Thursday and Friday of each month at The McShin Foundation from 9AM-5PM. A $180 Registration Fee includes materials and lunch for both training days. Email info@mchshin.org to sign up!
Peer Recovery Specialist Training
72 Hour PRS-Training
Facilitated by Jesse Wysocki, CPRS and Raymond Ruybe, R-CPRS
This 72-hour Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services Peer Recovery Specialist Training is the mandatory prerequisite for the Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification with the Virginia Certification Board (VCB). It is up to you as to as to whether or not you want to continue to take the test through the VCB to become officially certified after completion of this course. The Peer Recovery Specialist training is for adults (18+) who have lived experience with mental health and/or substance use challenges, or a family member/supporter of someone with mental health and/or substance use challenges. Participants of this course must be well-grounded in their mental health and/or substance use recovery.
