Mission Statement

Families 4 Recovery is committed to delivering recovery support
services to families 
and youth in their fight against the disease of addiction.

Purpose

In conjunction with community organizations we work to eliminate the shame and stigma
of addiction, develop and deliver family solutions and support, and create 
awareness of the disease of addiction

Families 4 Recovery Can Help By:

  • Providing education for the families 
  • Offering resources on treatment facilities, treatment programs and costs 
  • Helping families navigate the insurance process
  • Offering support to parents through our network of experienced peer to peer volunteers
  • Offering a proven peer to peer support environment for youths
  • Providing tools for navigating the dangers of substance abuse

Substance Use Statistics

  • 10 Virginians die each day from Substance Abuse
  • Rates of drug and alcohol use are up significantly among youth 12 to 18
  • Alcohol use has risen from 17% to 45% in students in grades 8 through 12
  • 73% of children have used alcohol by the senior year of high school
  •  69% of teens have friends who abuse marijuana regularly
  • 1 of 4 youth have misused a prescription drug
